Abstract

Background: The background of this research lies in teacher competency standards as a factor in increasing motivation to achieve the national education system objectives. Purpose: This research aims (1) to determine the influence of pedagogical competence of Islamic Education teachers on learning motivation among students at At-Taqwa Junior High School in Central Bekasi (2) to determine the influence of professional competence of Islamic Education teachers on learning motivation among students at AtTaqwa Junior High School in Central Bekasi (3) to determine the extent of influence of pedagogical competence and professional competence of Islamic Education teachers on student learning motivation at At-Taqwa Junior High School in Central Bekasi. Design/methods/approach: This research uses quantitative research methods. The research was conducted at At-Taqwa Junior High School in Central Bekasi, with a population of 225 students. Using the Slovin formula calculation, samples were distributed to 90 respondents, with data collection conducted through Simple Random Sampling. Tests conducted in this research include validity and reliability tests, while data analysis techniques include normality tests, linearity tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing. Findings: The research results show that from the multiple linear regression calculation, 64.833 is the constant value a or the value of variable Y, while 0.279 is the value of the regression coefficient X1, and 0.272 is the value of the regression coefficient X2, indicating a positive influence of X1 and X2 on Y. The calculated F value is 4.970 with a significance of 0.000, which is smaller than .009b, indicating a significant influence. Additionally, the magnitude of influence between X1, X2 on Y is 10%, as seen from the R square value of 0.103.
